A vibrant,  inclusive, caring, and supportive force  in our community-by-the-sea.

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me."
                                                                   Matthew 25:35-4

Caring for one another is central to Trinity's mission and vision.  We strive to be supportive of and address social concerns in the local area, the wider church and the world; and through a strong ecumenical relationship with the other churches in the area. The  local mission and service work  of Trinity United Church helps individuals and families in our communities, through:

  • Holding Town Hall gatherings - for example, Meet you Mayor /councilors/ candidate.
  • Fellowship, outreach, and fundraising events
  • Donations to Moncton & Shediac (Vestaire St. Joseph) Food Banks - the First Sunday of each month is our foodbank collection; however, bring your canned and dried food items along whenever you remember them or when you have them on hand.
  • Friendly visiting of those in hospital, in care homes, or others unable to make it out into their community.
  • Monetary donations to not-for-profits supporting spiritual growth, such as Camp Ta-Wa-Si  - a camp which strives to provide several weeks of "celebrating God's presence and living with respect in Creation for the youth of our Chignecto Presbytery area every summer.
  • Providing a place for several other non-profit organizations to meet  - Meeting space provided for Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Narcotics Anonymous, and Seaside Literacy (GED program).
  • Providing a home of an outreach program for adult learners -  from September to June five (5) days a week, the doors to the church hall are open for the GED program.  This program is for adults who wish to earn their high school diploma.
  • Supporting other local charities and others in need, such as families at Christmas.

A portion of congregation offerings and other donations also support  national and international  mission & service activities,  with designation and administration of funds through the head office of the United Church of Canada, including support to:

  • Global partners in 25 countries acting for peace and justice.
  • Community & justice work across Canada with 74 community ministries and 39 chaplaincies.
  • Theological education & ministries support at 6 theological colleges & 4 lay education centres.
  • Faith formation & leadership support, including youth ministries training.

United Codiac Refugee Committee (UCRC) Update:
Helping and Welcoming New Families to our Area

Trinity United Church Shediac has a representative on the United Codiac Refugee Committee (UCRC).  The UCRC is a group of citizens from the Greater Moncton area who are committed to addressing the Syrian refugee crisis. with a primary focus to sponsor refugee families.

We have already welcomed our first families, from Syria.  The support we have received was imperative in allowing us to move forward! Thank you! We know churches are planning other fundraising events - everything from talent auctions to meals, to concerts!

People are still asking, “What can I do?” First, we are still in need of financial support. You can make a tax-deductable contribution through your congregation or directed to St. Paul's United Church in Riverview: Note for Syrian Family Sponsorship. Also, if you would like to be involved, we can still use volunteers.

Please contact us through your congregation’s representative or visit us on Facebook at United Codiac Refugee Committee and we will be happy to match your gifts and skills with what we need to welcome a family who will be building a new life in Canada. Additionally, we would like for you to pray for the work of the committee, for the family and for peace to prevail in Syria and beyond.
